The RECs were busy last year with over 260 scientists working on nearly 300 research projects across the REC System. Results from the cutting-edge research projects extend and deliver information to growers, ranchers and industry to  lower water use, improve yields and control pests and manage rangelands for maximum forage production while being able to deliver safe food and resources to the state and nation.

In 2013, more than 30,000 adults and youth attended field tours, forums, workshops and other educational events to learn about agriculture, natural resources, food, and water. In fact, this year the FARM SMART program at Desert REC hosted its 100,000th visitor!
