Reclaimed, timber-sized, Douglas fir posts are in place now as part of the "green design" of the UC Hopland Research & Extension Center's soon-to-be Rod Shippey Education and Field Lab Facility. As you can see, the "X" parallam trusses tie the structure together and will support the inverted roof design which will shed rainwater for future gray-water needs.
